Dr. Angela Illuzzi-Russo
Dr. Russo is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. She is a graduate of Rutgers University where she studied Nutritional Science and Agricultural Business Economics. She then attended New York University College of Dentistry, graduating at the top of her class, being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. She was rewarded with many honors, including the New York University Alumnae Club Key Pin and New York State Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Outstanding Senior Dental Student Award. Dr. Russo then completed two years of General Practice residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, serving as Chief Resident her second year. She then pursued Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, receiving the Very Reverend Michael Ivan Franczak Scholarship Award for Outstanding Resident in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery upon graduation. Dr. Russo most enjoys serving the underserved populations and provided free services to Holocaust Survivors in New Jersey. The highlight of her career, however, was her outreach trip to Ghana, West Africa. There, with the Health and Humanitarian Aid Foundation, she was able to participate in surgeries that were life changing. Here in Maine, she is the distinguished Dr. Philip J. Boyne Chair of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Maine Medical Center and holds a teaching position through Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Russo loves spending time with her family, her husband, a dentist at Community Dental, and her son. They enjoy exploring the beauty that Maine has to offer.
